SMARTGAS is an EIP-Agri Operational Group, financed by the RuralSMARTGAS is an EIP-Agri Operational Group, financed by the RuralDevelopment Programme of the Tuscany Region. The project brings togetherregional authorities, private companies, research institutions and farmers.The objective of this EIP-AGRI project is to involve agriculture in GHG mitigationby reducing the use of agricultural inputs and energy (i.e. fuel and fertilizers)and increase carbon sequestration in agriculture.The project will help identify, test and validate management strategies andagronomic solutions that are able to: guarantee sustainable crops and qualityagricultural products; optimise farming systems by producing biogas andachieve sustainable farming intensification.
